Helen Gibson, VP Program Development
Helen taught with the Toronto Board of Education for 29 years, with additional teaching experience in Ghana, Australia and China. She also co-founded and operated a private math-tutoring academy for twenty years. Her background includes a specialist certificate in Mathematics and Physics, Level Three qualifications in Special Education, and Psychology credits from the University of Waterloo. Helen has been a writer for the Toronto Board of Education on such subjects as Math Anxiety and Problem Solving, and has co-authored a Mathematics textbook. In 1982, Helen co-founded ‘MATHELP’, the highly successful proven diagnostic and remedial service for underachieving Math students. Helen has a passion for helping students achieve their potential, and a rare insight into how children and teenagers learn.
